Joyce Truong is a Vice President at Avivar Capital and has over 10 years of experience in management consulting and impact investing.
Joyce began her career in impact investing as an investment team member of the Turner-Agassi Education Facilities Fund at Turner Impact Capital, one of the nation’s largest and fastest-growing social impact investment firms. The fund, and its predecessors, acted as both a developer and investor in best-in-class charter schools in underserved communities throughout the country. Joyce’s responsibilities at Turner Impact Capital included deal underwriting, portfolio management and reporting, and management of the acquisition, investment, and development process.
After working at Turner Impact Capital, Joyce was a Senior Investment Manager at Landed, a Series B fintech company with a mission to help essential professionals unlock the power of homeownership by providing down payment assistance. The down payment assistance fund invested $100m of equity in residential real estate assets nationally and helped 1,200 customers purchase their primary homes. Joyce had a wide set of responsibilities, including capital markets business development, investor relations, portfolio monitoring, and asset management.
Joyce holds a B.A. in Human Biology and an M.S. in Management Science and Engineering from Stanford University as well as an M.B.A. from the UCLA Anderson School of Management.
