Lori Mizuno is Director of Operations at Avivar Capital, overseeing all internal operational and administrative functions. Prior to joining Avivar, Lori spent over a dozen years in the nonprofit field, having worked at several organizations in the Los Angeles Area. Most recently, she was the Executive Director of Wellness Works, a Veterans Services Organization, and prior to that was the Senior Operations Director at Cause Communications, a strategic communications nonprofit. Lori started her nonprofit career focused on HIV prevention and public health, working underserved communities in Los Angeles with BIENESTAR Human Services, and nationally and globally with AIDS Healthcare Foundation. With her experience in operations, program management, business development, and strategy, Lori focused on increasing operational efficiency for better program outcomes and implementing strategic projects in her roles.

In her spare time, Lori is a pro-bono consultant with Jericho Road Pasadena, providing strategic planning and development support for nonprofits in the San Gabriel Valley, and was previously the Board Chair of the San Fernando Valley Counseling Center. Lori graduated from the Robert F. Wagner School of Public Service at New York University with a Master of Public Administration, focusing on nonprofit management. She also received her BA in Comparative History of Ideas and a Minor in Human Rights from the University of Washington.
