Nicolas is a Senior Associate at Avivar Capital and has over 10 years of experience in the fields of investment management and impact investing. He received his MBA from UCLA Anderson with a focus on Social Impact and Finance. Prior to his Masters, Nicolas served as a Senior Portfolio Manager at the Central Bank of Colombia, where he managed the $50+ billion International Reserves Portfolio investing in different asset classes including government bonds, corporate bonds, currencies, and derivatives, among others. Nicolas began his career at ING Colombia, where he led the commodity’s strategy for the mandatory and severance fund.

Nicolas, a CFA chartholder, earned his BA in Economics from Universidad Nacional in Bogota, Colombia with a concentration in finance. He is a native Colombian and is fluent in Spanish.
